As I prepared to open my clinic, I was exploring how to establish a stronger and more distinctive brand. I had long been interested in aesthetic medicine in Korea, but without connections to Korean clinics, I had never had the opportunity to pursue training there.

When I was introduced to this service, I immediately felt that it was exactly what I had been looking for and decided to participate.

It had always been difficult for me to find the time, but during the preparation period before opening my clinic, I was finally able to make room in my schedule for the training.

I was initially concerned because I do not speak Korean, but having a dedicated interpreter accompany me made communication with the physicians and clinics completely seamless.

The itinerary was also customized around my schedule and carefully arranged to make the most of my time. I was extremely satisfied with the overall experience.

Feedback After the Training

I participated in a three-day Dr.Skill+ training program in Korea.

On the first day, I trained at a dermatology clinic, focusing on injectable treatments. On the second and third days, I observed surgical procedures involving areas such as the eyes and nose. In total, I had the opportunity to train at four different clinics.

It was an extremely valuable three days, during which I learned about the latest trends that have yet to reach Japan, as well as original techniques developed by each clinic—many of which I could immediately begin incorporating into my own clinical practice.

Through this training, I was able to gain a deeper understanding of the differences between aesthetic medicine in Japan and Korea. I hope to bring those insights back to Japan, combine the strengths of both approaches, refine them further, and apply them to my practice going forward.

Challenges Before the Training

As I prepared to open a clinic in Ginza, one of Japan’s most competitive areas for aesthetic medicine, I was considering how to establish a distinctive approach that would differentiate my clinic and ultimately create greater value for my patients.

I joined this training program in Korea to gain firsthand exposure to the latest aesthetic medical techniques and perspectives from overseas and to apply what I learned to both my future clinical practice and clinic development.

Feedback After the Training

Although the program lasted only two days and one night, I was able to learn about a wide range of highly specialized techniques and the latest clinical insights, including regenerative medicine using MCT (PRP), penile surgery, and ARTEMIS LIFT.

Beyond the techniques themselves, I was also able to experience the efficient and practical clinical systems used in Korean aesthetic medicine, as well as a culture in which aesthetic treatments are deeply integrated into everyday life. This gave me a clearer understanding of the differences between Japan and Korea.

I also had the opportunity to learn about emerging technologies that may shape the future of aesthetic medicine, including breast augmentation utilizing 3D printing technology and regenerative medicine.

I hope to adapt the knowledge gained through this program to the needs of patients in Japan and use it to provide more specialized care with greater added value.

The original schedule had to be changed due to a flight cancellation, but everything—from rebooking flights and hotels to local transportation and interpretation of highly technical medical content—was handled smoothly. Despite the limited time available, the program was exceptionally comprehensive and rewarding.

Challenges Before the Training

I wanted to broaden my knowledge and clinical skills by gaining exposure not only to aesthetic medicine in Japan, but also to techniques and perspectives from overseas.

I felt that continuing to practice exclusively in Japan could naturally limit my perspective, so I decided to participate in this program to learn directly from clinics and physicians in Korea, where aesthetic medicine continues to advance rapidly.

Feedback After the Training

During the training program in Korea, I was able to explore Korean aesthetic medicine from a wide range of perspectives, including periocular treatments, aesthetic medical devices, visits to local clinics and procedures, and technical training in thread lifting.

By exchanging ideas directly with local physicians, I was able to learn not only about treatment techniques, but also about their broader approach to aesthetic medicine. The experience gave me many new insights that would have been difficult to gain while practicing solely in Japan.

I intend to incorporate the techniques and knowledge I gained into my own clinical practice, refine them further, and ultimately bring that value back to the patients who visit Lūna Beauty Clinic.
